Business Development Seminars - These half day seminars are offered to help the members of the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce. Topics may include; customer service, financial planning, marketing/public relations, computer/internet technology and how to make your business grow.
Diplomat Program - Diplomats are the core group of volunteers for the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce. The group meets once a month to discuss and plan chamber functions including the annual membership/awards banquet, golf tournament and sporting clays tournament.
Leadership Monroe - This nine month program is designed to educate class enrollees on all services throughout the county. Each month is spent on a different topic including education, community services, health care, economic development, tourism, government and criminal justice as well as a trip to Nashville to learn about state government.
Making It Happen - This is a two week program wherein we equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for success in the real world. The two week program ends with a resume evaluation and mock interview.
Monroe County Open Gallery Tour - The tour features art galleries in Sweetwater, Madisonville, Tellico Plains and Coker Creek. After visiting each unique gallery, participant may enjoy dining at a participating restaurant at a discounted price.
Tennessee Scholars - This program is a business-led rewards and incentives partnership between business and education that places business leaders in the schools to encourage students to take a more rigorous course of study in order to be prepared for college, the workforce or the military when they graduate. It also requires 95% attendance, no in-school suspensions and 20 hours of community service.
Youth Leadership - This program is offered to high school students entering their junior year and is scheduled for one week in the summer. Each day is spent on a different topic including community services, health care, economic development, tourism, government and criminal justice. |
